It was a hotbed for higher learning. It was a place to achieve academic success and explore new aspects of education and enrichment. The next generation, the heirs of the government, country, and world, sat at the feet of the greatest scholars America could offer to expand their minds and get ahold of as much factual knowledge as possible.
It’s a breeding ground for hurt feelings. “Precious snowflakes” spend their time blaming previous generations and white privilege for all of life’s problems instead of working to overcome their circumstances, protesting the opinions that contradict their own with tears and vandalism instead of intellectual arguments, and getting overall offended at anything and everything. This is the college experience.
Everett Piper, president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, published a letter explaining a situation that took place with a student who protested a sermon delivered by the university chaplain. The student felt personally attacked, targeted, and victimized.
What was this sermon about? Considering the reaction, it must have contained high levels of racism, sexism, discrimination, or at least unkind and bitterly strong judgements… right?
This sermon was all about love. Using text from 1 Corinthians 13, the chaplain was encouraging love and kindness in each of these young scholars.
The aggrieved student claimed that it made him feel bad for not showing love, and that the speaker was in the wrong for making him feel this way.
Unfortunately, this attitude isn’t singular to this particular fragile featherbrain. Reactions such as his to messages such as that have become a norm in modern culture, creating an endless fear of “triggering” the reaction before expressing any opinion… whatsoever. Lets call this endlessly indignant group Generation Snowflake.
They’ve been raised in a time of opulence, with access to whatever they want whenever they want it. They know nothing beyond a microwave culture of instant satisfaction, and prize their feelings above all else.
Then they go to college.
College itself isn’t a bad thing. In fact, the original idea and execution of it was important.
So what happened?
Liberal politicians, professors, and activists have transformed liberal arts universities from a place to debate differing philosophies and expand the mind into a hideout of unbreakable comfort zone.
With progressive democrats in control of liberal arts colleges, the few conservative students and teachers don’t stand a chance.
Instead of challenging the students to logically defend their beliefs, they are fawned over, pampered, and assured that their opinion is nothing short of indisputable truth.
That is, as long as the opinion in question lines up with the liberal message that has been fed to them non-stop since the day they set foot on campus and, very likely, long before that. Millennials find nothing questionable in regurgitating a fact-deficient perspective, and accepting it as absolute truth.
Real truth, however, is irrelevant.
You may have noticed that I have not referred to the liberal mindset as a set of opinions, but rather one fixed opinion.
Every differentiation from the opinion, even within the opinion, is met with anger, threats, name-calling, generalized accusations, and full-out adult-sized temper-tantrums by Generation Snowflake.
This is what Webster’s Dictionary refers to as Brainwashing.
1 : a forcible indoctrination to induce someone to give up basic political, social, or religious beliefs and attitudes and to accept contrasting regimented ideas.
2 : persuasion by propaganda or salesmanship.
Progressive ideas are taught to be accepted without question. A confining circle of belief is traced out and every student is pressured, if not ordered, to adopt the predetermined “comfort zone” or… “Safe Space.”
The brainwashing is so thorough and secure that Generation Snowflake has no concerns or questions, and truly believes that it is their American right to demand the silence of others to ensure they remain unchallenged.
Video of the reactions to disputes of their opinion isn’t difficult to find. From news channel clips to cell-phone footage, a simple search of “liberal riots” on YouTube yields hundreds of results with plenty of disturbing material.
In February 2017, students at Berkley University went so far as to tear down police barricades and throw them at the building that speaker Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to present at, along with explosives, rocks, and any other potentially hazardous things they could get their hands on. They vandalized the building as they tried to break in… all because someone was going to present facts and opinions that didn’t support their own.
Going far beyond yelling and screaming, the reactions of Generation Snowflake to conservative influences have reached a dangerous and even violent level.
So… where does college tie in?
“The most formative time of our lives are the years between birth and age 21, when we explore who we are and learn from those who surround us.” -Ben Shapiro
If progressives want to capture America for the purposes of their own agenda, where better to start than places with high concentrations of impressionable minds? Impressionable minds that are old enough to take action in protests, old enough to vote, old enough to change the world… but young enough to believe everything they are told by society, young enough to be obsessed with liberal-directed pop-culture, young enough to believe that they are being individualists when in reality, they are doing exactly what social engineers want.
College has been warped into a propaganda paradise. Liberal arts universities have become precious snowflake factories, cranking out millions of emotionally unstable, fact-allergic, single-minded social soldiers every year.
And those social soldiers have been very busy doing exactly what the culture controllers have conditioned them to do. Putting more stock in the baseless opinion ironed into their minds than into confirmed facts, denying science itself, and violently protesting anyone who would dare oppose them. Generation Snowflake demands “safe spaces” which are places where no one can oppose them, or even talk about things that might “trigger” them. It’s a place where no one is allowed to say anything that could possibly offend them, a place where free speech is irrelevant, and unadulterated selfishness is the main objective. And they demand these safe spaces… everywhere.
These “safe spaces” are ever-enlarging, imminently all-encompassing, and if allowed to continue, are destined to consume America as a whole.
And when “safe spaces” take over… Say goodbye to all the free exchange of ideas and free speech in general.
Liberal arts colleges are teaching that feelings trump freedom, and Generation Snowflake is devouring this message with glutton.
“Never in our country’s history has a generation been so empowered, so wealthy, so privileged—and yet so empty.” -Ben Shapiro, Porn Generation: How Social Liberalism Is Corrupting Our Future
So… how can we change this?
